BOLT was designed to be a module in the Supply Chain. Most Corporate supply chain systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) concentrate on manufacturing processes, order processing, inventory management and customer relations. BOLT covers the missing gap of transporting the finished goods (product) from manufacturing to the customer on time and with minimal damage. Finished goods inventory is expensive. Either manufacturing or the receiving site will be paying no matter if the inventory is in a warehouse or on a trailer. When combined with PeopleNet, BOLT can deliver real time information regarding deliveries. Route adjustments can easily be made to meet changing demands along a standard route.
